The components of this blend change seasonally, allowing us to always use coffees that are fresh and taste good. While the coffees themselves may change, we aim to always keep the Heute Blend balanced, sweet and easy to use.

Brazil Cafeina Women’s Group - Natural - 75%

Ethiopia Kabira - Natural - 15%

Brazil  Wanusa Rodrigues Santos: Nascentes Womens Group - Natural - 10%

Tasting Notes: Roasted Hazelnut, Cherry, Bakers Chocolate

Cafeina Women’s Group Cafeina was formed in 2019 and has over one thousand members. It is a sub-group of the much larger Cocatrel Cooperative in Sul de Minas, Brazil. One of Cafeina’s aims is to use peer to peer training to help elevate coffee quality to specialty grade standards. This coffee acts as the base for the espresso blend: providing nutty and milk-chocolate flavours.

Kabira Mustefa Abakeno is a smallholder farmer in the Jimma Zone of Western Ethiopia, managing 18 hectares of land at 2,040masl. He processes his coffee using a mix of washed and natural methods, with a short fermentation time due to limited water and space. In 2018, Mustefa registered as an exporter and set up his own wet mill, Beshasha, to process coffee from himself and local outgrowers. With support from the Falcon team, Mustefa has improved his farm’s practices, including cherry selection, drying techniques, and farm management. In 2021, Falcon added an agronomist, Harun, to further enhance quality control at the washing station. Mustefa also acquired a second washing station, Kabira, to process natural coffees. The two stations now produce distinct lots, named after their locations.

Wanusa Rodrigues Santos: Nascentes Womens Group We've been working with the Brazilian export group Sancoffee for five years and were excited when Ana Claudia introduced us to Nascentes, a new initiative founded by and for women coffee producers in Campos das Vertentes. The project celebrates the often-overlooked contributions of women in the coffee industry. In its early stages, Nascentes met with various women producer groups to understand their challenges and work towards more equitable outcomes. The group’s first harvest in 2022 was a collective effort, marketed and exported with Sancoffee. Wanusa, a founding member, contributed a standout microlot from her farm, which has become our favorite from last year’s Nascentes harvest. The name "Nascentes," meaning "spring" or "source," reflects the collective’s strength, likened to the confluence of waters creating powerful rivers.
